Vigan City Fiesta Celebration

                                   A Week to Remember

                                   

       The Vigan City Fiesta is held every January 25. it is celebrated during the feast day of the conversion of St. Paul the Apostle. St. Paul is Vigan City's patron saint.The Vigan City fiesta usually lasts for several days. It includes within the period celebration of the anniversary of the cityhood of Vigan, which is commemorated every January 27.
   
       It is the custom of the Filipinos to return to their hometown to join their family and friends in the celebration of their fiesta, that's why the Bigueños from all over the country and even abroad returns to Vigan. The visitors from other parts of the country also enjoys the cultural shows, parades, and street dancing that is prepared by the government with the help of local industries and community's. There are also food fair, arts exhibit, as well as a visiting carnival. To compete in the various activities, particularly the street dancing competition, participants from the different neighbouring provinces in northern region are also sent.

        Many scheduled events are prepared for us to watch together with our friends and co Bigueños. That's why Vigan City fiesta is really enjoying.

       New year means a new journey to start with. Last year, we've encountered many problems in our lives but with our positive mind and with the help of God, we are able to pass through these challenges.

       During our hard times facing these problems, we thought of  giving up, but luckily we are able to think of a way on how to overcome and come up with these. We may stumble and fall, quitting is still not the solution for these. In fact, we always need to look at the brighter side of our life to be able to make it.

       At the end of the year, we must not change our self, we just only need to improve and be better to be able to make up with every challenges that will be encountered along our lives.

ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS

 
     Every 25th day of December, we celebrate the Christmas day. It is the day when Jesus Christ was born. And every Christmas, it is our tradition to prepare foods to eat, with our family and relatives. So at the same time, it also serves like a bond to us, because on that day, we celebrate it with each other.
     Christmas is really one of the most important celebration that we need to not forget, because it is our Jesus' birthday, and it is also a way in order to show our love to him.
     Let us thank God for all the blessings that he continuously give to us. And we should not forget the day to celebrate his birth.

VAWC

                          "End violence now"

      A lot of women and children are being violated, they are being hurt and bullied especially by men, and the worst thing is that they can't do anything to protect themselves from violence.

       That's why a law has been  approved. It is the RA 9262 also known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act (VAWC) of 2004, charges tougher penalties for abusive husbands and men and marks the declaration of the States valuation to "the dignity of women and children and guarantees full respect for human rights"

   This act provides protective measures for victims of different kinds of violence so that no one can hurt them again.
